How to Care for your new paint job
Keeping a consistent wash schedule is good practice.
Bugs, dust, dirt, chemicals, and the toils of every day use can all have a negative effect on your car’s paint. The best way to preserve the beauty of your new paint job is to properly wash your vehicle using the proper tools. Most experts recommend cleaning products that are specifically designed for automotive use. Dish soaps and other household soaps can damage a car’s paint job.
- Always use a cotton or paint safe micro-fiber washing mitt
- Try to wash your vehicle with the car out of direct sunlight.
Heat dries soap, and may cause spots and streaks. Washing and rinsing your vehicle in sections will prevent car wash soap from drying before being washed off.
- Always rinse your vehicle with ample amounts of water before washing.
Cleaning off dirt and other debris prior to washing is a good way to prevent contaminates from damaging the paint surface.
- Never skip the drying process
Drying your vehicle after washing is good practice to prevent water spots. Using a 100% cotton detailing or sheepskin cloth is best.
- Wax!
Waxing is one of the most important things you can do protect your car’s paint.
